Survey: Houston salary increases hold steady

Houston employees are expected to receive a 3.9 percent  increase in pay in 2009.  The raise matches the 2008 wage hike according to the survey conducted by WorldatWork.  For additional salary data, rread the complete article in the Houston Business Journal.

You need travel only as far as Houston. In May, the unemployment rate in the nation's sixth largest metropolitan area was a measly 3.8 percent.

Clear Creek Teachers Receive BP Grants

Six teachers in the Clear Creek school district earned grants from BP Energy's A-plus for Energy Education Program.

 

Grants of $10,000 each went to five teachers,  and a $5,000 grant to a sixth teacher.

 

In addition to the grants, each teacher received a scholarship to attend an all-expense paid trip to an Energy Education Training Conference and $500 in energy education materials for their classrooms.
